Who this notice covers
Godsall.dev is Adam Godsall’s independent development website. Adam Godsall is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice.
The site presents Adam’s independent development services, experience and product work. It is separate from the customer accounts and services offered by Kordra or any other linked product.
For privacy questions or requests, email adam@godsall.dev.
Information you provide
If you send a professional enquiry by email, Adam receives the information you choose to send. This may include:
- Your name and email address
- Your organisation, if provided
- The topic, problem or project you describe
- Your message
Please do not include special-category data, confidential employer information or anything you are not authorised to share.
Technical, security and consent information
The hosting platform and security controls may process an IP address, user-agent information, request timing and related technical logs to deliver the site, diagnose faults and prevent abuse.
Your cookie choices and the time of that choice are stored in your browser so the site can remember them. This preference stays on your device until you change it or clear the site’s stored data. A separate local browser setting remembers that the cookie panel has been shown, so it opens automatically only on your first visit.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 is loaded only if you enable analytics in Cookie settings. It may collect page views, interaction events, referral information, device and browser details, and approximate location information.
Names, email addresses, organisation names and message content from email enquiries are not deliberately sent to Google Analytics. Analytics can be withdrawn at any time through Cookie settings.
The preferences interface includes a marketing setting for future compatibility, but Godsall.dev does not currently load marketing or remarketing scripts. This notice will be updated before that changes.
Why the information is used
- To respond to professional enquiries and manage the resulting communication
- To deliver, secure and maintain the website
- To understand site use and improve the portfolio where analytics consent has been given
- To comply with legal obligations and establish, exercise or defend legal claims where necessary
The lawful basis for responding to enquiries and maintaining site security is legitimate interests. Where an enquiry asks Adam to take steps towards a possible engagement, processing may also be necessary to take those steps at your request. Analytics processing relies on your consent. Legal obligations are relied on where they apply.
No personal information collected through this portfolio is sold.
Who receives information
Information is shared only where needed with service providers supporting the site:
- Vercel, which hosts and delivers the website
- The email provider used to receive and reply to enquiries
- Google, only when analytics consent has been given
Information may also be disclosed where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights or website security. These providers act under their own terms and privacy information.
International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, the transfer is handled using an applicable adequacy regulation or contractual safeguard made available by the provider.
How long information is kept
- Routine contact enquiries are normally kept for up to 24 months after the last substantive contact.
- Records may be kept longer where an engagement remains active or they are needed for legal or tax purposes.
- Consent preferences remain in your browser until changed or cleared.
- Hosting, email and analytics providers retain data according to their configured controls and policies.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you the right to:
- Ask for access to your personal information
- Ask for inaccurate information to be corrected
- Ask for information to be erased or processing to be restricted
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Receive eligible information in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the lawful basis
You are not legally or contractually required to send an email enquiry, but Adam may be unable to respond if there is not enough information to address it. The site does not use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
To exercise a right, email adam@godsall.dev. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Security and external links
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal information, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Links to LinkedIn, GitHub, Kordra and other external services are governed by those organisations’ own privacy notices. Godsall.dev is not responsible for how an external site handles information after you leave.
Changes to this notice
This notice will be reviewed when the portfolio, contact process or supporting providers materially change. The date above will be updated when revised information is published.
