About this policy
This policy explains how Godsall.dev uses browser storage, cookies and similar technologies on Adam Godsall’s website.
Optional analytics remains off unless you actively enable it. Continuing to browse does not count as consent.
What the site stores
The site stores your analytics and marketing preference, together with a timestamp, in your browser’s local storage. This is necessary to remember the choice you made and does not require optional consent. A separate local browser setting remembers that the cookie panel has been shown, so it opens automatically only on your first visit.
Security and hosting controls may also use technical data to deliver the site and prevent abuse.
Google Analytics
If you enable analytics, the site loads Google Analytics 4. Google may then set cookies including:
- _ga, used to distinguish visitors
- _ga_<container-id>, used to maintain session information
Analytics information may include:
- Pages visited
- Interaction events
- Referral source
- Device and browser details
- Approximate location information
This information is used to understand how the portfolio is used and where it can be improved. Names, email addresses and message content from email enquiries are not deliberately sent as analytics parameters.
You can withdraw analytics consent at any time through Cookie settings. When analytics is rejected, the site requests deletion of Google Analytics cookies available to it.
Marketing preference
The preferences interface includes a marketing setting for future compatibility. Godsall.dev does not currently load a marketing or remarketing script, regardless of that setting. This policy will be updated before any such technology is introduced.
Managing your preferences
Use the Cookie settings button at the bottom left to accept optional technologies, reject them, or change an earlier choice. You can also use your browser settings to view, delete or block cookies and clear local storage.
Blocking optional analytics does not prevent access to the portfolio or contact details.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated if the storage technologies, providers or purposes used by the site materially change. The date above shows when this version was last revised.
